Lumen is celebrating its eCommerce division's 25th anniversary this year! From its beginnings with the creation of the Eleknet e-commerce platform, to the new search engine implemented this year, a lot has evolved.
The rapid development of web tools, the changing habits of Internet users as well as innovations in the field have greatly impacted the way Lumen has had to adapt, in order to remain relevant on the market.
Marc Gauvreau, e-commerce specialist who has just celebrated his 25th anniversary at Lumen, recalls:
"Lumen was a pioneer in e-commerce, at the time we were the only ones to have a transactional website in our industry. There was no search engine, so you had to know the product number in order to find it. Today, we are the most advanced in our sector, it's the customers who tell us! Our strength is our omnichannel offering, it's becoming easier and easier to do business with us."
But this is only the beginning of the digital transformation, driven by the entire Sonepar group. Lumen puts its customers at the center of its decisions, constantly adding new features and improving existing processes. "Inertia is not an option, our customers now have a digital ecosystem that enriches their experience and makes it more efficient" adds Rudy Abitbol, eCommerce Director at Lumen.
